The Batalha wine cellar is located in the emblematic village of Batalha close to one of the most valuable architectural wonders of the country, the Monastery of Santa Maria da Victória, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Since 1969, the Batalha Wine Cellar has taken advantage of the best elements that the slopes that surround the monastery have to offer. It is supplied by over 830ha of vineyards that are tended with passion, commitment and dedication and transformed into wines that taste of tradition. The Batalha Wine Cellar represents over 85% of the wine production in Batalha estate.

image9“Alta Estremadura”is the area where the Batalha Wine Cellar is located and it is a sub-region of Estremadura whose diversified landscapes, soil and mild climate greatly influence the agricultural production of the region. This is a region with a significant national market share not only due to the extension of the vineyards but also due to the quality of the wines it produces. This zone of Alta Estremadura reaches a vast area that goes from the slopes of the Serra de Aires Mountain all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. In Hugh Johnson’s Pocket Book of Wine 2010 he states that the region of Estremadura has excellent value for money wines and we believe that we have located some of them.
