Casa Santos Lima is the biggest producer from the Lisboa wine region, responsible for more than a third of the exports of the wine under appellation Vinho Regional Lisboa & DOC Alenquer.

Considerable investment ensures they have the top wine technology for continuous innovation making them one of the most globally decorated vineyards in terms of awards.

Casa Santos Lima is family owned (4th generation) with more than 350ha of vineyards. It was founded by Joaquim Santos Lima at the end of the 19th century who was already a well-known wine producer & exporter.

The Estate is formed by several “Quintas” all belonging to the family for longer than a century. They advanced greatly when Jose Luis Santos Lima (great grandson of the founder) left his financial full time job & started with their own brands & bottle plant.

    A wonderful example of a great quality wine at an excellent price. With aromas of ripe red fruits, a good balance of oak which is the result of 3 months in oak barrels. A very well balanced & fresh medium bodied wine that has a long & pleasant finish.

    Style: Juicy, approachable & fruity red

    Serving Temperature: 15 - 16ºC.

    Perfect for a midweek glass of wine with friends!

    Suggestions: Can be enjoyed by itself or with ham, barbeques, pizza & meat/tomato based pasta dishes such as bolognaise.

    Extremely fresh & aromatic, with tropical & citrus fruit character. Light-bodied, with crisp fresh lemon notes & a fruity balance.

    A perfect wine to suit many occasions, but it is a often a lunchtime white wine that has flavours distinct enough to partner many dishes. This wine has all the flavours with less alcohol & less calories. Fun in a glass!

    Style: Aromatic light white.

    Serving Temperature: 8 - 10ºC.

    Suggestions: An easy drinking wine that is a great aperitif & can also be enjoyed with light meals such as salads, fish, shellfish, cold courses & Indian food.

  • Azulejo Still White

    CSL1-WST - Vinho Regional de Lisboa - Fernão Pires, Arinto and Sauvignon Blanc - 12.5%

    Winemaking Process: The Vinho Regional Lisboa White Wine is crafted from a blend of Fernão Pires, Arinto, and Sauvignon Blanc grapes sourced from vineyards with a density of 4,200 plants per hectare, thriving in clay and limestone soils. The harvest typically spans from the end of August to the middle of October, ensuring optimal ripeness of the grapes. After total destemming, the grapes are pressed, and the resulting juice undergoes fermentation in stainless steel tanks with temperature control maintained at 10°C - 12°C.

    Tasting Notes: This white wine is characterized by its vibrant aromatic profile and fruity expression. Upon opening, enticing citric notes dance on the nose, inviting anticipation of what's to come. On the palate, these citric nuances shine once again, accompanied by a lively character that exudes balanced acidity and great freshness. The wine offers a delightful sensory experience, with each sip revealing layers of complexity and a harmonious blend of flavors.

    Food Pairings: The Vinho Regional Lisboa White Wine pairs wonderfully with a variety of dishes, thanks to its lively acidity and fruity profile. It complements seafood dishes such as grilled shrimp or fish tacos, enhancing the natural flavors of the seafood. Additionally, its refreshing qualities make it an excellent match for lighter fare like salads with citrus vinaigrette or fresh vegetable platters.

  • Azulejo Rosé 2022

    CSL2 - RS Screw Cap - Vinho Regional de Lisboa - Camarate & Cabernet Sauvignon - 12.5%

    Alenquer is the ideal region for rosé with fresh notes due to the Atlantic breeze that blows over the vines from the nearby coastline. This wine shows a beautiful blush pink colour, with dominating ripe red fruit aromas. It is medium in body, revealing sensations of ripened fruit, combined with good minerality & acidity to match.

    It also has a slight sparkle that lifts & refreshes. Perfect after a meal with heavy dishes (or heavy reds) & a great bottle for glugging in the garden basking in the afternoon sun!

    Suggestions: Served as an appetizer or with salads, seafood, grilled food & oriental spicy dishes.

    Style: Young, exciting & fruity Rosé.

  • CSL Alvarinho 2022

    CSL3 - W Cork - Vinho Regonal de Lisboa - Alvarinho - 13%

    Fresh & fashionable, Alvarinho is the Portuguese cousin of the Spanish Abarinho grape. Commonly grown in the north west of Portugal, this Lisbon example expresses the high quality nature of the grape in a very approachable & extremely affordable style.

    The zestiest of the four Alvarinho’s in our portfolio due to the Atlantic influence, it possesses a bright citric colour with intense aromas of tropical fruits & apricot. It has a good structure which is balanced by an excellent acidity to give ripe white fruit, delicious length & a dry finish.

    Serving Temperature: 7C – 9°C

    Suggestions: Sushi, shellfish & white meats are good matches for this wine. A great summer wine that is as good by itself, as with a meal.

  • CSL Arinto 2022

    CSL5 - W - Vinho Regonal de Lisboa - Arinto - 12.5%

    Citric colour & aromas, as well as fresh tropical fruit aromas such as pineapple. On the palate, it shows complexity, minerality & freshness with some floral & citrus notes. Well balanced & a pronounced acidity. Intense & exuberant in the end. Ever since taking off the last Arinto from our list we have been hounded by customers to find another! With its characteristic tropical/citric lift, that gives any fish dish a squeeze of lemon, this all year drinker is far from just a summer fad.

    Serving Temperature: 7C – 9°C

    Suggestions: Fresh fish, seafood or crispy salads.

  • Sousão Red 2019

    CSL2 - R Cork - Vinho Regional de Lisboa - Sousão - 14%

    A real red wine lovers wine! Very strong ruby in colour, due to the red flesh of this grape. Perfumed with deep aromas of warm spices, red berries, chocolate & slightly smoky secondary note. In the mouth it gives a range of sensations & flavours with red fruit being the dominant taste. The well structured tannins & its complexity are a result of careful ageing in oak barrels, which also assists the wines long finish.

    Serving Temperature: 16ºC.

    Suggestions: Gastronomic wine that matches well with steak, sausages, herby stews, barbecues, Indian food,roast or grilled red meats.
