Thomas Münch was born not far away in the town of Wachenheim in the mid 60 ́s. In 2022 he completed his 20th vintage in a row at Die Weinmacher, 17th in charge of Blue Fish! Riesling is his passion and he gives it a particular touch: “I like when a wine wakes up my taste buds. That ́s why I try to leave a bit extra acidity so when I sip it, I start salivating!” Thomas is also the commander of the local Firemen ́s corp!

Blue Fish wines are made in Niederkirchen, Pfalz, by „Die Weinmacher“ (The Winemakers). Die Weinmacher is one of the oldest cooperatives in the region and has been making wines since 1902! Close to 200 families are coop members and take care of the vineyards that supply the grapes for Blue Fish. The growing area is called Mittelhaardt and is the largest single Riesling growing appelation world wide! Die Weinmacher is a winery within Deutsches Weintor, the leading German wine cooperative.

“Die Weinmacher“ is one of the leading organic growers in Pfalz. Out of the 240 hectares belonging to the coop members, 20% of all (48 has) are organically certified. With 30 hectares of Organic Riesling alone, Blue Fish sources from one of the largest organic grapes vineyard areas in Germany.

    TASTE:

    Dry – Dry, fresh and harmonious with a pleasing structure and great freshness. After harvest, the wine undergoes a temperature-controlled fermentation, followed by partial malolactic fermentation. All this in order to keep as much aromas and flavors as possible with a round mouthfeeling and refreshing finish.

    SERVING SUGGESTIONS:

    Serve lightly chilled. Blue Fish Organic Riesling is a sublime aperitif and matches perfectly with white fish, risottos, light pasta, sushi and Asian-inspired cuisine.
