Domaine de l’Heure Bleue - Côtes de Provence Notre-Dame des Anges Appelation
Eonologist: Murielle Schlicklin-Peyrebrune
Organic, Sustainable
Nestled in the heart of Provence near Saint-Tropez, Domaine de l’Heure Bleue spans 12 hectares of hillside vineyards under the Côtes de Provence Notre-Dame des Anges appellation. Entirely restructured, the estate benefits from a privileged location on the slopes of the Massif des Maures, in the commune of Gonfaron, surrounded by the exceptional natural setting of the Plaine des Maures National Nature Reserve.
The Notre-Dame des Anges terroir designation was officially recognized in 2019 as a unique expression of the Côtes de Provence AOP. It draws its name from the highest point of the Massif des Maures (767 meters), visible throughout the region. This distinct terroir stretches across 10 communes in the Var department, offering an extraordinary landscape of umbrella pines, oak trees, and chestnut groves.
The estate takes its name from l’Heure bleue—a poetic moment between day and night when the sky is painted in deep hues and nature comes alive with fragrance. It reflects the spirit of the Domaine: subtle, vibrant, and in harmony with its environment.
Brigitte and Alain Place, a passionate couple of winemakers, have brought their vision to life through the organic transformation of the estate. Their deep respect for nature guides every aspect of their viticulture, allowing the land’s true character to shine.
Until 2024, Alain Place served as winemaker. Since then, following the acquisition of Château Réal d'Or, Domaine de l’Heure Bleue has entrusted its cellar to the skilled hands of Murielle Schlicklin-Peyrebrune, a seasoned cellar master whose expertise ensures continuity in quality and expression.
Today, the wines of Domaine de l’Heure Bleue are regularly honoured with awards at prestigious competitions in France and internationally, a testament to the estate’s excellence and dedication.
